This week is big on brows. The British cult brand REFY hits Sephora and One/Size by Patrick Starrr launched a trio of brow products. Lady Gaga and Halsey have launched covetable limited-edition offerings, while clean formulations and health remain front and center in new launches.

Fig.1: Co-founded by four friends—marketing powerhouse Kelly McCarthy (LVMH, Nike, VaynerMedia) and consumer healthcare entrepreneur Kimmy Scotti (of venture capitalist firm 8VC + women’s health and wellness company Monthly Gift), alongside Harvard Medical School instructor and board-certified dermatologist Dr. Courtney Rubin and skincare chemist Lizzy Trelstad—decades of experience have informed the launch of the gender neutral skincare brand on a mission to democratize and demystify healthy skin. Scientifically designed and 100% clinically proven products promise professional results, with no product costing more than $40.

REFY: Launched just six months ago by beauty and fashion influencer Jess Hunt and beauty entrepreneur Jenna Meek. At just 24 and 28 respectively, the duo identified an opportunity in the market for versatile, foolproof makeup products that enhance rather than hide natural beauty. The UK-based brand has already reached US shores with a launch at 320 Sephora doors. The brand's three-stage brow collection includes Brow Sculpt ($24), which according to the brand has already sold half a million units, Brow Pomade ($20), and Brow Pencil ($20), which are both available in three universal shades, Light, Medium and Dark. REFY has new product and category launches planned throughout 2021.

Shielded Beauty: Beauty industry veteran Sonia Summers, the founder of Beauty Barrage, created a brand to provide relief for consumers who want to feel safe in today's world while nourishing their skin. Five groundbreaking products go beyond clean by fusing natural antimicrobial ingredients with nontoxic actives for daytime protection and live probiotics to restore your skin’s health and balance day and night. The brand is Peta-cruelty, Vegan certified, and B Corp pending. Products are priced from $30 to $55.

Seratopical Revolution: Sera Labs, a subsidiary of Cure Pharmaceutical Company, launched a new clean, plant-based, technologically advanced, anti-aging, "revolutionary," beauty brand. Actress Nicole Kidman, Sera Labs’ strategic business partner and global brand ambassador, collaborated to design the range of 11 products. Seratopical Revolution marries nature and science into one clean formula that contains the PꝫP complex, developed by Cure Pharmaceutical, that drives natural, plant-based ingredients into the deeper layers of the skin by utilizing a proprietary tri-peptide delivery system. Products are priced from $22.49-$39.99.

Limited Editions and Collaborations:

Haus Laboratories: In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the groundbreaking Born This Way album, Haus Labs introduced a limited-edition Bad Kid Vault makeup box set of 16 beauty products. The curated full-size assortment gives fans the creative freedom to "recreate" Gaga's iconic Born This Way makeup looks. The set is available on the brand's website for $250 (valued at $318+).

IPSY X Halsey: About-Face founder Halsey teamed up with IPSY for the third edition of Glam Bag X, a collection of the most coveted products in beauty curated by the multimedia award-winning artist and self-taught makeup artist who has always created her own looks. This new collaboration marks the third edition of the IPSY Glam Bag X program. The first two sold out far ahead of their ship dates. Glam Bag x Halsey recipients will receive a total of 8 full-size products worth up to $500 for just $55, five of which will be tailored to their individual preferences and three that they choose from a personalized assortment via IPSY’s proprietary machine-learning technology, IPSY MATCH.
